crazy run

I've been back at my apartment since Saturday and boy does it feel nice. I was at my parents for TEN days and that was long enough!!
I left Troy on Saturday before my Dad got back from his trip, so I didn't get to see his tattoo that he, my uncle and cousin all got until Sunday. They got matching pool balls with the number 3 on them, because our last name is Ball and there were three of them on the trip. I know it means a lot to him because his brother doesn't live in Ohio anymore and their love of motorcycles is something they've always shared. He is now Harley shopping so he can have a bike for their next trip which they already have planned out.
Saturday night I went to a going away party in Columbus, I was nervous about going because even though I get invited by people, I always feel out of place. I'm glad I went though because I had a really good time, the drive there and back were nice, the food was super yummy and it was nice to hang out with people...something I haven't done much of lately. I understand everyone has their own lives, but I just feel like I don't have one at all most of the time and I've felt so out of place and left out of the loop for the past month or so. I'm really trying to figure everything out for myself and may be making some headway, but I don't really want to say much about it until I know for sure. I seem to always jinx myself.
Yesterday was a bit of a dreary and cold day, but that didn't stop Monty and I from getting out and about a few times. I got my errands done early and then he and I took walks and more walks, went to a park, got coffee and took another walk and then went for a run. The run was amazing, and almost didn't happen!! Earlier in the day my gym "key" fell off my key ring and instead of just putting it back on, I sat it on the coffee table and figured I'd remember to grab it before heading to the gym...NOPE! My gym isn't far away but its not really close either, I have to go past the mall and traffic is always heavy so it takes longer, well I got to the gym and right when I put my car in park I remembered I didn't have my key. I didn't feel like driving back to my place and then back to the gym and then back to my place again, so I just decided it was a good time for Monty and I's first run together this year. I'm glad I decided on this because it was amazing and he loved loved loved it, he kept trying to run faster and I'm pretty sure I looked like Phoebe in the episode of Friends where she and Rachel run together.

Today I'm at work with nothing to do, but have coffee plans with Stephanie later this evening which I am sooo sooo excited about. I bought the nastiest creamer yesterday so I have not had any yet today and I can feel it...oh coffee addiction.
What are some of your drink addictions for the spring/summer time? Mine are for sure iced coffee and mint iced tea.

new phones and cute clothes

My mini vacation in Troy is coming to a close, my dad called today and they are back in Georgia at my uncles dropping off one of the bikes. Tomorrow they're heading to Nashville and spending the day there and making the rest of the trip back on Saturday. While they were at my Grandparents, they all convinced my 80 year old GB (Grandma Ball) on her birthday to take a ride on one of the Harleys!!  It sounds like they all had a good time and I can't wait to take my own trip down there soon! Overall I've had a nice little stay away from my noisy apartment and am more than ready to move out of there, but not back into my parents house...at least not for more than a couple weeks.
Yesterday I got a new phone...a Blackberry Curve and I love it. It is soooo cute and I love not having a touch screen anymore!! Today was work...boring! Before work I ran a couple errands and went to F21, I tried on a ton and decided to order it online because if I change my mind (which I do a lot) you can return it for a refund instead of store credit. I narrowed it down to just a dress and a pair of shoes that will look super cute together!

The dress looks a little dressy/fancy online but on it looked a lot more casual and with the sweet yellow shoes...ahh I can't wait!! Hopefully, by the time they arrive this rain/snow will be over with!! Yeah, snow!!! It is suppose to come over night and only amount to 1/2", so nothing too serious but still...it is SPRING. Snow, no thanks!!!

mini recap

It feels like it has been soooo soooo long since I've been at work, I almost forgot I had to go in today.
I'm glad to be out of Troy though, I've been staying there since Thursday because my Dad is in Florida and my Grammy has been in the hospital since Friday so my mom has been with her a lot and needed help with the dogs. Troy is pretty boring, but its nice to have cable and a gym close by.
I stopped at Target on my way in to work and bought She & Him vol. 2!! Even though I've already heard the whole thing, I'm super excited to listen to it on my way home!!! If only it was sunny and warm out today, it would be a perfect drive.
Not much else is going on in my life, Saturday I went to a friends birthday party but felt like poo about myself by the time I left. I hate that the only thing people can find to talk to me about is my love life or lack there of. I feel like all I am to everyone is single...no one asks about my job, my dog, what I've been up to or if I have anything else going on. Oh wells.
Sunday I went to Cincinnati to look around Nordstrom and return a dress from my H&M shopping trip on Friday that I got in the wrong size. Lucikly they had the size I needed but I didn't find anything else. I made a quick stop at Anthropologie but didn't find anything there either. I stopped in Dayton to have coffee with Stephanie before heading back to Troy, it was nice out so we sat outside for the first time since last summer!! I love sitting outside at coffee shops and restuarants when the weather is nice, it just adds a little something.
Yesterday I did nothing besides go to the gym and play with the dogs.
Tomorrow I plan on getting a new phone, I'm thinking of a the Blackberry Curve (verizon). What phone do you guys have? Do you like it?

kindle commercials

I am seriously soooo in love with the Kindle commercials.
I loved the first one with the just the girl and the stop action...ugh she is so pretty, the song is so cute and it gives me such a whimsical dreamy feeling.

The second one is just as cute, with the pretty girl, an adorable guy and another lovely song!!!

I wanted a kindle when it first came out but just figured I never would make the purchase, but now I really want one! I know my life will not turn into my own little kindle commercial, but a girl can wish!

Here is a link to Little&Ashley's myspace page where you can hear the songs in their entirety and where to purchase them, as well as a link to their facebook.

yay for more sunshine and shopping!!

My little trip to Columbus went pretty well, we left later than I wanted to so we didn't get to go to all the stores on our lists.
H&M was first. I was hoping they had a lot of the new Garden Collection, but they only had a handful of items and none were the dresses I wanted. Oh wells. I did get a cute shirt dress that my mom picked out and a very pretty shirt.
The next stop was XXI and at first I thought it was no more, so I asked someone if it was still in the mall and it turns out they moved it outside and made it two stories. It was HUGE!! I didn't spend a lot of time in there though because their heat was on and broken so they couldn't turn it off. On top of that the walls were mainly windows and the sun was beating in making it even hotter, I thought I was going to pass out in the dressing room and the girl in the room next to me decided to not even finish trying her stuff on and just left because she couldn't stand the heat. They didn't have any of the things I saw online but I did score a dress, shorts and a cute tank top.
By then it was time to leave so we'd get home before dark since we left all three dogs outside since it was so nice. All in all a good day and one I definitely needed.
I hope you all had lovely weather where you are and you were able to enjoy it!!

plans

No coconut iced coffee and shopping for me yesterday. Boo.
I was asked to work yesterday, which I had to say yes to...I need the money and I have Friday off so I can go shopping then.
Of course I had a whole lot of nothing to do at work so I planned out all the places I want to go to while in Columbus.
Even though it is only an hour away, the drive is awful and it feels like two hours so I don't go that often.
My mom is going as well and we both have different stores we want to go to and they are all at different malls, so we'll be hitting up all three malls!!
I really want to go to Dirty Franks Hot Dogs and try the Nikola or Ohioana with a veggie brat and the Srircha Slaw and get some frozen yogurt at Yagoot...my mom and I love that place. Dayton needs to step it up and get one of each of those places.
Besides planning my mini trip on Friday, I've also been looking up places to go on vacation at. My parents have a time share with locations all over and my mom and I are going on a trip for my graduation present...maybe. I want to go soon but a lot of the places are already booked up or don't have deluxe suites available.
I'm not about to stay in a regular suite without a kitchen and have to eat out every meal, I'd much rather buy groceries and cook most of the time. Saves money and I can make sure I eat healthy.
With spring finally here I really want to go some place warm that has a beach, I miss the ocean!
Speaking of lovely weather on Tuesday after work I walked Monty around for awhile before meeting up with Stephanie and Sabin for starbucks. Monty and I were out from 5:30-7:15ish and he still was not worn out, so we hopped in the car and went to the bank and then for another walk. He has too much pent up energy from winter.
Yesterday Monty and I spent the day outside after I got home from work again. This time though we met up with my mom and the corgis at the bark park. There were soooo many dogs and they all were having a ton of fun.
We stayed forever and I took Monty for some frozen yogurt afterwards. He has been soooooo good the past couple weeks, he deserved a little treat.
I'm working again today and then Monty and I are heading to my parents so I can drop off a card for my dad to take to Florida with him.
He and all his siblings are going to surprise my grandma, it is her 80th birthday!! My dad is driving with my cousin and hauling his Harley to Georgia to my uncle's who has two Harley's and they're all riding bikes the rest of the way. His sister and other brother are driving separately and meeting them and then they're all showing up at the same time.
I wish I was going! I could use multiple vacations!
Have a lovely Thursday everyone!!

yay for sunshine and she&him

My internet seems to be working again, so time for an update!!!
I haven't been up to much at all besides working and working out. Oh and having an O.C. marathon.
Things have seemed to slow down even more for me since my last couple posts. whoohoo.
Last week I ran outside for the first time since probably November and it was amazing!! I ran all over Oakwood and found a new route for this spring/summer...if I stay living in this area.
That means that I am seriously considering moving to Florida by the end of April and the way things have been the last few weeks just makes me want to go even more. Plus it is one of the only options I have.
Enough bummer talk. Today is work, a little surprise for Monty when I get home and then going on a run. I have found my new spring/summer food and am making it again tonight for dinner. I'm pretty excited about that too. I'll post the recipe sometime, it is super healthy and yummy.
Tomorrow is waking up and getting to Troy early, getting a coconut iced coffee and heading to Columbus for some shopping. I've had my eye on a few items at F21 and the only F21 store around here that carries the line they are from is in Columbus...hopefully they have them since they are no longer online!!
Ooohhh and if you are a huge fan of the lovely lovely She&Him then head over to NPR and check out their new album Volume 2 in it's entirety as they have them featured in an exclusive first listen!!!
Time to pack up my lunch for work and head out early for a couple little errands!!
The sun is out which means it is a cute shirt and skirt kind of day!! Whoohoo!!!

i'm back...kind of.

Just as I was getting back into blogging my wireless started being total crap. I have to constantly unplug and plug everything back in and restart my laptop. It is annoying and time consuming so I have just opted not to get online as much, I'll just start blogging here at work and at Panera on my days off.
With the nice weather we're finally having here in Ohio, my life has gotten a bit more eventful...Saturday my sister, mom and I went to Ikea to spend the $100 gift card my mom won, then we went to a mall near by and then to Jungle Jim's.
We ate lunch at Ikea and I got sick almost as soon as we got done, after throwing up twice in super crowded bathrooms I felt 100% better. I don't know what I ate that made me so sick, but if I ever eat there again I am staying away from the salad bar and brocolli/potato medallions.
At the mall I bought a super duper cute yellow dress from Macy's that I had been eyeing forever. It was half off with an additonal 15%...can't beat that!!!
Jungle Jim's is always fun, I bought my weight in salsa from their salsa bar and stocked up on lime and salt popcorn.
Sunday I headed up to Troy super early and spent the day doing laundry, playing with the dogs, and just lounging around. Nothing too exciting.
Yesterday my mom and I went to my cousins to spend time with her since it was her birthday and she is the daughter my mother wishes she had had. She lives in a tiny town that has no stop lights, so we stopped and got iced coffees from Tim Horton's before heading there and then went to the local diner to get pie to take as well. We spent three hours talking, playing with Ellery, my cousin's baby, playing with her three dogs and eating pie...not a bad way to spend a day.
Today is work and Starbucks with Stephanie!! If it doesn't rain by the time I get home, we're walking the dogs there...I've missed doing that soooo much this winter.
Time to finish things up here at work before I head out, I hope everyone is having a lovely Tuesday and that the weather is as nice where you are as it is here...until the rain comes.

free music sampler

NPR has a free sampler of some of the artists that they are featuring at this years SXSW festival. So if you like NPR, good music, free stuff and then you should download it!!! The code is good until April 30th.
My favorite song on it is "Hannah" by Freelance Whales...sooooo cute!!!

cardio

Dorian gave me the great idea of posting about my current gym routine, since I don't have much else to post about. This is a great idea because even though I've been working out for awhile, sometimes I feel like I don't know what I'm doing so I could use input from others on what else I can do or what you all do!

Ok, so as of late I've been focusing a lot on cardio. It is almost spring time so that means I can get back to running outside, which I LOVE so much more than the treadmill. I've also been doing a lot more leg stuff, I really want to tone them up...I haven't seen a difference but it feels good so that is all that matters!!
I alternate every day between arms/back and legs and do a little bit of abs everyday.
For now I'll just talk about what I do as far as cardio. I love cardio...getting all sweaty, gross and seeing how hard and far you can push yourself feels amazing.

cardio:45-60 mins
.treadmill warmup-walk at a 3.7 pace at an incline of 6-7 for 15 mins.
.treadmill running-I do the "around the world" workout which just means that the incline changes every couple minutes throughout the entire workout from no incline to a pretty steep one. I do this for 25-30 mins and then do the 5 min cool down.
.elliptical-I don't do the elliptical a lot because I don't like the ones at my gym, you can't change the incline...boo. But if your gym has the ellipticals that allow you to change the incline then you are lucky and I am jealous...I usually do the cardio option on the elliptical and keep the incline between 7-10.

I change it up everyday as far as what I do and the incline/pace, but that just gives you a bit of an idea.
I also do jumping jacks, butt kicks (you just kick yourself in the butt with your feet) and jump rope.

What do you all do for cardio? Any ideas and tips are welcomed!!
Tomorrow I'll post about my arm/back routine!

This week has been a bit more eventful for me, I started a new book so that has given me something to do for a bit everyday. Wednesday I went with my mom and sister to try on dresses for my sister's wedding. Ugh, I love dresses and the ones we narrowed it down to are really nice.
After trying on dresses my mom and I went to the mall and Amar India, which was amazing. My mom is my Indian food buddy, she loves it and Troy unfortunately lacks one.
When I got home Stephanie and I went for coffee and it was nice to get together, it had been more than a few days and it was bumming me out.
Yesterday was work and then dinner with Paul, the guy who wants another chance. We met at Panera in Troy, everything went well but I'm not feeling another chance coming on. The feelings aren't there anymore and anything that happens would be out of loneliness, which is not fair to either of us. So friendship it will be.
Today I'm going to look for another job and apply to Wright State, I don't feel 100% about this decision but I have to make one. I can't keep living in limbo and keep talking about plans and ideas...I have to decide and give something a chance.

bbbbbbllllllllooooooooogggggggggg

I know I keep saying it, that I need to get back into blogging...its just nothing is going on for me right now and every post would be the same.
watched tv.
worked.
took monty on a walk.
went to the gym.
yup...that is all I do.
I didn't do anything all weekend, so there is nothing to post about from it.
Yesterday I started an OC marathon and went to the gym...nothing exciting there either.
I don't know what I'm doing as far as school anymore. Nothing is panning out and I'm just really confused and feeling hopeless in many aspects of my life.
I have work today which is good, I'll have human interaction so perhaps that will cheer me up a bit. Plus I got one of the dresses I ordered in the mail and am excited to wear it today...maybe without tights if the sun decides to finally come out.
Oh how I wish it was spring.
