girls night

Yesterday was a good day for me.
My mom and I got some much needed shopping done.
My cute jeans are ordered, wedding gifts are purchased, I have two strapless bras to choose from to wear with my dress for the wedding, I ate blackberry pie and bought more cute clothes from F21.
After my mom left I went to the post office to mail my rsvp and while I was doing so my date to the wedding texted me. A nice surprise. We texted throughout the evening and I have to say it left me feeling better about myself and asking him (we don't know eachother that well) When I got home from the post office I watched some more Gilmore Girls, until it was time to get ready and go to the movies with Stephanie. In keeping with our love for Gilmore Girls and Alexis Bledel, we saw Post Grad. It was cute but different from what I thought it was going to be. The ending was a bit strange, it didn't really seem like an ending.
There is a 24 hours Starbucks right by the theatre, so we headed over there and had girl talk till almost 1:00 in the morning. Starbucks girl talk is a favorite thing of mine, I always leave feeling better about something that was bothering me or just feeling better in general...coffee and friends are nice like that.
Monty is pacing back and forth in front of the door, meaning it is time for a walk. Bye!

my thursday

Monty and I just got back from a nice run. It had been awhile since I'd taken him on one with me, but he was able to keep up with no problem.
Now I'm laying on the couch watching Gilmore Girls and wishing I lived in Stars Hollow.
It is the most perfect little town. Stephanie and I belong there.
Tomorrow my mom is coming down and we are going to hit up American Eagle for some cute jeans I saw online, Fredrick's of Hollywood to see if they have a strapless bra that I like better to wear for the wedding and wedding gift shopping.
Oh and another F21 stop since I lost one of my favorite pair of earrings...boo.
Speaking of F21:

I wore one of the shirts I got yesterday at F21 for work today.
I work at a travel agency as a receptionist, I was told I don't have to dress up whatsoever but I do.
A few times I've worn a hoodie and flip flops, but no one else dresses that casual ever so I stopped.
I still wear flip flops as my love for shoes is still growing, plus dressing nicely makes me feel like my job isn't as pointless as it really is. Because lets face it, I confirm reservations for ten minutes, shred paper for five minutes every hour and answer the phone probably once a day...the rest of the time I online browse or do the USA Today crossword online.
Not the most amazing job to have, or amazing pay...but it is better than nothing and it has allowed me to go back to full time at Sinclair and finally finish up my associates.
Speaking of which, last night at dinner GB mentioned how I would be the first grandchild to graduate college. I hadn't even realized it, but it is a nice feeling to know that she had.
Time to put in a new disc and cuddle with Monty.

mini road trip

Today I ventured down to Cincinnati to do a bit of shopping for myself and a bit of secret shopping.

I took snacks with me. I am seriously addicted to those things. Soo freaking good.
The drive down was nice. There wasn't a lot of traffic and it was time for Excursions on WYSO/NPR so there were good tunes the whole way.
My first stop at F21 at the Kenwood mall was a success. Not as big of one as I had hoped...but seeing as I don't really have the money for more clothes I guess it was better this way.

I did find out that they are opening up an H&M at that mall. They've been working on their Nordstroms for year now and it finally almost done. The opening is on Sept. 25, five days before my birthday. Shopping spree for me. Its been so long since I've used my Nordstroms card.
After my quick F21 stop I headed to my favorite place to online browse. Gah, I drool over this store.

My Anthropologie stop was my secret stop. Its always fun to look there. I wish I had endless amounts of moolah. I'd buy the whole store.
My last stop was to:

I got a couple pillows I couldn't find during my last trip and a new blanket for Monty since he got sick all over his other one.
After Ikea I went back to Dayton, grabbed Monty and headed up to Troy to see my grandparents before they head back to Florida for the winter. Every year they leave earlier and earlier.
We ordered lots of La Fiesta and headed over to their house. My mom also brought pie, strawberry/rhubarb. I wasn't sure about the rhubarb so I just ate the crust.
I still had my camera with me, so I decided to get some pictures with my grandparents since it will be quite some time before I see them again.

My GB (grandma Ball) fell at a garage sale and has a black eye, so she was trying to hide it behind my hair. Haha, she's so cute. She wanted to wear those huge black sunglasses that all grandmas tend to wear, but I said no because it would hide her whole face not just the black eye. And no one bothered to tell me I had a strawberry seed stuck in my teeth...thanks family.
I look horrible in the picture with my Poncho (grandpa) but this was the only picture he was somewhat smiling in. GB said he had to smile.

My mom wanted a picture of just me for some reason, so this was my dad's attempt at taking a picture. Well he made a few attempts, this was the only one that included more than just my face.
Now I'm back at my parents house watching Animal Planet and drinking sweet tea. I don't want to drive back to Dayton tonight. I've been in the car too much today, but I've got work tomorrow and season three of Gilmore Girls waiting at home for me.
OOOOhhhhh I almost forgot the good news I got today....I have a date to Ravi and Stephanie's wedding!!! I asked the guy after a week of girl talk with Ravi and Stephanie and working up the courage to ask. After my heartbreak in the spring I decided I need to put myself out there and take more risks. At first I wasn't sure if I was actually changing and holding true to what I had promised myself, but friends have told me they can tell I'm putting myself out there more and recent events have given me the proof I need to see that I am and this was an opportunity I had to take. Whoohoo risks!! And wedding dates!!
